Biography

   Louis William Tomlinson, born Louis Troy Austin; Doncaster, UK; December 24, 1991, is a British singer-songwriter. He started his career as a member of the boy band One Direction, which he was inducted into after auditioning on The X Factor. The group reached the end of the program and came in third place. Although they did not win, Cowell paid a contract for them to sign with the Syco record label. After that, they released the albums Up All Night (2011), Take Me Home (2012), Midnight Memories (2013), Four (2014) and Made in the A.M. (2015), which reached the first position in the best-seller lists in many countries, including the United States and the United Kingdom, in addition to registering high sales.
   After One Direction announced an indefinite hiatus in 2016, Tomlinson launched himself as a solo artist, releasing the hits "Just Hold On" with Steve Aoki and "Back to You" with Bebe Rexha, until he finally released his debut album Walls on January 31. 2020. He also returned to The X Factor in his 15th season as a mentor.

Musical Career

One Direction

   After auditioning for The X Factor, Judge Nicole Scherzinger suggested that Louis be part of a group called One Direction along with Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan and Liam Payne. The creation of the group became a reality and the five were mentored by Simon Cowell. During the competition, the band performed a variety of songs such as Kelly Clarkson's "My Life Would Suck Without You" and Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart," making them one of the favorites to win the contest. However, they came in third place, behind Rebecca Ferguson and winner Matt Cardle. Despite not winning, Cowell paid out a £ 2 million deal for One Direction to sign with the Syco record label.
   In 2011, they released their first studio album, Up All Night. It debuted at number one on the Billboard 200, making One Direction the first British group to debut their first studio album at number one. Her first single, "What Makes You Beautiful", reached number one in Ireland, Mexico and the UK. The later singles, "Gotta Be You", "One Thing" and "More than This" had moderate success, being successful in some countries but failures in others. To promote the album, they embarked on the Up All Night Tour and released a DVD of the tour, called Up All Night: The Live Tour.
   In November 2012, they released their second album, Take Me Home. This had a better reception than Up All Night, as it reached number one in the United Kingdom, being the first album by the quintet to do so.13 It also reached first place in Australia, Canada, the United States, Ireland and New Zealand. The first two singles on this album, "Live While We're Young" and "Little Things," were well received. The former, reached the top spot in Ireland and New Zealand, while the second rose to the top spot in the United Kingdom. The third and final single, "Kiss You," failed in sales in most countries and did not achieve prominent positions compared to the two previous One Direction releases. On the other hand, together they began their second Take Me Home Tour, which traveled to four continents around the world and also part of it was recorded for his first documentary film directed by Morgan Spurlock, called This is Us.
   In other activities, they performed a mix of "One Way or Another" by Blondie and "Teenage Kicks" by The Undertones called "One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks)" in order to help raise funds for the Comic Relief organization.

   The band's third studio album Midnight Memories was released on November 25, 2013. It was the best-selling album worldwide in 2013 with 4 million copies sold worldwide. "Best Song Ever", the lead single from the album, became the most successful One Direction song in America. Following the album's release, the group embarked on the Where We Are tour. In November 2014, One Direction released their fourth album Four which would include the singles "Steal My Girl" and "Night Changes", both songs achieved platinum certification in the United States. In February 2015, the band embarked on the On The Road Again tour, playing in Australia, Asia, Africa, Europe, and North America. In November 2015, ther fifth album Made in the AM was released, led by the singles "Drag Me Down" and "Perfect." Following the album's release, the group began an indefinite hiatus.

Solo Career

   Tomlinson appeared on The X Factor in 2015, as a guest judge alongside Simon Cowell. That same year, he created his own record label, Triple Strings Ltd. Tomlinson released "Just Hold On" a collaboration with American DJ Steve Aoki on December 10, 2016. The single debuted and reached No. 2 on the UK Singles Chart and reached number one on the Billboard Dance / Electronic Digital Song Sales.
   In July 2017, Tomlinson released the single "Back to You" alongside Bebe Rexha and Digital Farm Animals. The song reached number eight on the UK Singles Chart and number forty on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Later, it was announced that Tomlinson had signed a record deal with Epic Records. In October 2017, Tomlinson released a promotional single "Just Like You" that reached number ninety-nine on the UK charts. After that, he released his second solo single "Miss You" in December 2017.
    On July 17, 2018, it was announced that he would be a judge alongside Simon Cowell, Robbie Williams and Ayda Field on the fifteenth season of The X Factor. In February 2019, it was announced that Tomlinson had signed with Arista Records; His first release under his new record label was the track "Two of Us" released on March 7, 2019. The song is about his mother Johannah Deakin, who died of leukemia in December 2016. On September 5, 2019 he released "Kill My Mind ». IHeartRadio's Lindsey Smith described the song as a "punk-influenced track with heavy guitars and drums," and thought it "really shows his talent and ability to effortlessly perform different genres."
   On October 23, 2019 Tomlinson announced his first studio album Walls in a video posted on social media, saying that he was "really relieved to finally be back" and thanked fans for his patience.

Personal Life

   He was in a relationship with Eleanor Calder, a then student at the University of Manchester, from 2011 to 2015. In early 2017, he resumed his relationship with her.
   On January 21, 2016, his son Freddie Reign was born, a product of his brief relationship with Briana Jungwirth.
  Since the creation of One Direction, Tomlinson's friendship with his partner Harry Styles resulted in a bromance nicknamed "Larry Stylinson." In 2012 and on the subject, Tomlinson stated that at first it was something funny, but that at that moment it was difficult to deal with since he was dating Eleanor. He also added that he and Harry are simply best friends.
   In an interview with The Hits Radio station, Louis assured that his role model is Robbie Williams, adding that: “I have a massive musical icon and that is Robbie Williams. We actually sang with him on The X Factor and he was absolutely amazing. " His favorite group is The Fray and his song "Look After You" from the same group.
   Sometimes Louis notices a certain kind of buzzing in his right ear. Although he has not been officially diagnosed as to what he has, it is believed that he is tinnitus, a disease that could render him deaf.

Football Career

   After impressing at a charity game at Keepmoat Stadium in his hometown of Doncaster to raise money for charity Madera Bluebell, he was offered a contract by professional football club Doncaster Rovers to join the club on non-contractual terms. The deal was negotiated by Tomlinson to be a development player and to participate in reserve games to avoid missing his musical commitments to One Direction. They gave him the number 28 of the 2013-14 season. Tomlinson said of the move: "It's amazing, I've really been a huge football fan for a long time and grew up in Doncaster, I've been to a lot of games at Keepmoat to be a part of the club, it's amazing." 
     Tomlinson also owns the Tres Herraduras pub team, a team that he uses to play games. His debut as a professional soccer player came on February 26, 2014. He managed to play 25 minutes of the second half.
